The meeting tomorrow night is going to be at th Jr. High. Bring your friends and neighbors so we can all hear the TCEQ explain why they haven’t bothered to respond (or read) our comments from October.
The meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm in the Jr. High Auditorium.
The Golden Cheek Warblers are back and we have had wildlife scientists surveying the area, including spotting a GCW on the Parham property across the fence line from the west.
We have a lot of questions for Slick Machines and the TCEQ. Everyone is welcomed to speak, the more people attend, the more we speak, the harder it will be for the TCEQ to continue to let Slick Machines not be responsive to us.
See you tomorrow night.

The fight has just begun. Anyone attending last nights meeting should be questioning the intelligence, intent, and common sense of the agency (TCEQ) that has been assigned to protect Texas, from pollutants that threaten our air, water, and land.
Standing on the sidelines, waiting for your neighbor to fight for your rights is not enough. YOU need to stand up for your own health, property values, and the future of our great state.
It is obvious that the laws pertaining to controlling pollutants need to be changed. TCEQ is not going to change these laws. It is going to take the citizens of Texas to force change. We will not accept the minimums that are currently in place for controlling air pollutants. We will not allow an individual who has invaded our County, who has 2 violations against them, before they have even been issued a permit to operate a Rock Crusher, to be given free reign to do as they please, with total disregard to the rules and regulations that have been set in place to protect US!
Stand up! Let your State Representatives, Congressmen, County Commissioners, and local government know that WE WANT WHAT IS RIGHT FOR SOMERVELL COUNTY! This isn’t just a fight for our county. This is a fight for all of Texas, our future, and our children’s future.
Who is the TCEQ representing? What is the TCEQ’s purpose? Where do we, the citizens of Texas, fit in TCEQ’s Mission Statement?
“The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality strives to protect our state’s human and natural resources consistent with sustainable economic development. Our goal is clean air, clean water, and the safe management of waste.”
PLEASE! Do NOT be afraid to ask questions! Our government officials are in place because WE put them there! And WE can keep them there, or make certain that if they are not protecting US, they will not be in place to make decisions for US!
Thank you to everyone who has supported SAVE CHALK MOUNTAIN by attending meetings, writing letters, and making phone calls.
