The meeting tomorrow night is going to be at th Jr. High.  Bring your friends and neighbors so we can all hear the TCEQ explain why they haven’t bothered to respond (or read) our comments from October.

The meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm in the Jr. High Auditorium.

The Golden Cheek Warblers are back and we have had wildlife scientists surveying the area, including spotting a GCW on the Parham property across the fence line from the west.

We have a lot of questions for Slick Machines and the TCEQ.  Everyone is welcomed to speak, the more people attend, the more we speak, the harder it will be for the TCEQ to continue to let Slick Machines not be responsive to us.

See you tomorrow night.

The TCEQ called today to tell us there had been a mistake in making the reservations at the high school for the Public Meeting to be held March 31st.  It has been rescheduled for the Jr. High auditorium -same date, same time.  For those that are coming in from out of town the Junior High is by the fire hall, on College Street.

There is a Town Hall meeting scheduled for 6:30 pm at the Citizen’s Center on Feb. 11th.  We will update everyone on the status of the Permit Application for the Rock Crusher at Chalk Mountain and what we need everyone to do with the TCEQ.  We have some exciting news to share at the meeting concerning the status of the Applicant’s permit, what our Legislators are doing, what our legal team is doing and our fundraiser planned for May 2nd at Quail Ridge Ranch.  Hope to see everyone at the Town Hall meeting at the Citizen’s Center, 6:30pm Wed Feb 11th.

A second notice has been placed in the Glen Rose Reporter dated Jan 14, 2009 that the permit is advancing through the TCEQ process.  This is a long process and we are just at the beggining, so we all need to be patient and understand there is a process by which all of this takes place.

There will be a Town Hall meeting on Feb. 11th at 6:30pm to discuss what is currently happening and the next steps.  Watch the papers for the Town Hall meeting notice and plan on attending if possible.

The Chalk Mountain Foundation has been formed and we have retained a noted environmental attorney to help us save Chalk Mountain from Brown County’s Slick Machine.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the Town Hall meeting on February 11th.  For those who cannot attend watch this space on February 12th concerning the meeting and what you need to do to do your part in Saving Chalk Mountain.

In addition to the driveway, Tommy has expanded the pit, taking down trees higher up into the hillside.

Between last night and today, Tommy built a driveway to his pit at Chalk Mountain.

He was so excited last night he put on a show next to the highway, giving various poses for the camera, he even did a little “He-Man” routine…

Please select the link below to review the Ft. Worth weekly article written by jeff Pricnce.  In the article you will see interesting quotes from the Slicks, including that they will be on the land for 30-50 years and when they are done they are going to build a subdivision….

Yesterday a second Track Hoe was delivered enabling Slick Machines to double the amount of destruction they can do in a day’s time.  They parked on the State Right of Way beside HWY 67and drove a hundred or so yards down the right away and into their makeshift driveway.  Must have been quite a fright for passing motorists.
